Rev: Fr. Pierre Paul Blanck
Rev: Fr. Pierre Paul Blanck was born on 11 October 1809, as the fourth child of the Blanck family at Turkheim in France. His father Dr. Francis Joseph Blanck, and mother Agnes Baffrey were from a highly esteemed family of Turkheim. He inherited the Eucharistic Spirituality from his own father, who was a great devotee of Blessed Sacrament. He had a brother Priest , Fr. Francis Joseph and a religious sister M. Angelica.
He was ordained on 4th April 1835 at Genova, Rome. Form 1st October 1843 Fr. Pierre Paul Blanck was envisioning of founding a religious community. He felt the need of a religious Congregation for persons who have more preference for prayer and solitude. On 3rd March 1845 Rev. Fr. Pierre Paul Blanck founded the Congregation of the "Sisters of St. Joseph at Saint-Marc, Gueberschwihr.'
Our founder placed the Congregation under the patronage of St. Joseph, the foster father of Jesus. From 1845, the young religious tree gave promise of wonderful growth. The Sisters of St. Joseph of Saint-Marc dedicate their lives to contemplation, manual labour, caring for the sick, educating the children, and to works of charity, and as the ways Providence direct them.
